Working with multiple columns without hitting API limits
Understanding X's rate limits
X (Twitter) enforces strict rate limits on how many posts you can load and actions you can perform in a specific timeframe. If you have 10 columns auto-refreshing every 5 seconds, you will hit these limits very quickly.
Once limited, X will temporarily stop loading new content. ReDeck helps you avoid this penalty with smart performance features.
Live API Rate Monitoring
ReDeck features built-in Live API rate monitoring. You can visually see how many requests you have left.
If the bar is getting low, it's a sign to increase the refresh intervals on your less important columns or pause them temporarily.
Off-screen suspension and Sleep mode
To save memory and API calls, ReDeck employs 'Off-screen column suspension'. Columns that are out of view pause their aggressive updating until you scroll back to them.
Additionally, 'Sleep mode' reduces background resource usage when you are inactive or have minimized the browser window, protecting your computer's RAM and battery life.
The Smart Keep-Alive system
Some X sessions tend to disconnect or time out when left open in a tab for days. ReDeck uses a Smart Keep-Alive system to ensure your connection remains stable.
By balancing smart suspensions with keep-alive pings, ReDeck ensures that when you return to your dashboard, it is ready and up to date without having crashed the browser.
